Our spring sunshine has made for some great riding days. Whether you are in town visiting or commuting to work, Cycle Portland has everything you need!
We’d like to introduce Travis, our new marketing intern. He studies outdoor recreation tourism at Mt. Hood Community College and is a New England transplant. Travis will be with us for the next few months learning all about bikes, tourism and small businesses. He also works for Travel Oregon at the Portland Airport staffing the welcome center, and has been a great addition to the team. Come on in and say hi!
We’re hiring! Cycle Portland is currently looking for Seasonal staff to help with our bike repair shop and with leading tours! That’s right – get paid to work on bikes and ride in the sunshine. We’re looking for experienced people, so if you have guiding experience, or have worked previously as a mechanic in a shop environment, then please drop off a resume.
Looking for a great ride idea close to Portland? Check out the Banks-Vernonia State Trail. Oregon’s first rail-to-trail is also part of the Tualatin Valley Scenic Bikeway. This trip is easily accessible by the Max. Take the Blue Line to Hillsboro. Stop by the shop for a free map.
Did you know that the last Friday of every month there are free pastries and coffee for commuters on the Hawthorne and Steel Bridges? Stop by either of these bridges on your way to work from 7-9. for Breakfast on the Bridges. The next one is this Friday, April 25.
May is National Bike Month and May 16 is National Bike to Work Day. Stay tuned for tons of great bike events happening in Portland next month.
