Had a great ride Friday afternoon and evening at the Sandy Ridge Trail System. We are now offering a shuttle service and guided trips to this new development and we are very excited about the diversity of terrain. A winding paved road ride takes you up to the top of the ridge ( about 30-45 min ) where you can enjoy the 3.35 mile Thee Thirty Eight Trail- an intermediate loop with more challenging cutoff options for the intrepid experience. A two part decent trail – “Hide and Seek” takes you adjacent to the winding road here and there while sweeping through the forest, then jumps across Little Joe creek before a cut off trail takes you back to the road, or you continue down to the lower section of trail leading back to the parking lot. This section of trail has some excellent engineered trail examples or erosion prevention and quality control. The lower section of “Hide and Seek” is a bit easier stretch of single track, winding through sections of burmed corners and high rollers. There is an easy loop for beginner riders on the lower section of the hill called “Laura’s Loop” that has a nice smooth roll and explores a stand of Big Leaf Maple trees. Looking forward to trail additions under construction and a big thanks to the trail crew!
