2010 Oregon Bike Summit – June 4, Portland
Join us in June for a streamlined, one-day gathering that will keep you up to date and fully involved in Oregon’s cycling world. Registration is available now for the fifth annual Oregon Bike Summit, at only $50 per person.
Learn all you need to know on topics including national and state legislative issues, active transportation and health care, growing cycling tourism in Oregon and what lies ahead for biking in our state. And choose from afternoon breakout sessions on involving bike businesses in advocacy, bringing bike activism to underserved communities, how to use social media in advocacy efforts, and making the connection between transportation and recreation.
Your registration includes breakfast, lunch and an evening reception, plus the chance to network with some of the most involved bicycling advocates around. There’s also a group bike ride the next morning, led by Portland Bicycle Tours, who can provide you a rental bike. Get all the event details at the Oregon Bike Summit Web site.
P.S. – Our friends at the Initiative for Bicycle and Pedestrian Innovation at Portland State University are hosting a Bikeway Facility Design workshop on June 3. This highly interactive event covers planning and designing on-street bikeway facilities and how to integrate them into new and existing collector streets and arterials. Get more information here.
